Coming Next Year!

I think I've mentioned before that I am a Marvel Comics fan. My favorites are X-Men and Fantastic Four. I loved the movies about both. X-Men is my first love though. It was my introduction to the Marvel Universe. I got hooked back in the 90's when the cartoon X-Men was being aired on Fox Kids and fell in love with it. I was so bummed when it went off the air.

When X-Men Evolution came on, I watched it religiously for the four seasons it aired. Now, I am thrilled to announce that a new X-Men cartoon is in the works and will begin airing in 2009 on the Nick Kids network. It's called Wolverine and the X-Men. The premise is Professor Xavier, the founder of the mutant superhero team, the X-Men, has been killed. In despair, the X-Men disband.

But, the team members are shown a vision of the future, where the earth, and mutants especially are under the tight and cruel control of large robots called Sentinels. This future comes to pass because the X-Men gave up. So, under the new leadership of Wolverine, the X-Men must reform and prevent this from happening, all while battling Magneto and his evil mutants, and humans who hate mutants. I can't wait. I love the X-Men. I'm putting up a press picture of the upcoming show.

If there will be no changes to the cast of characters, it looks like this group of X-Men will have the following members: Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, Storm, Shadowcat, and Emma Frost. At least, that looks like who is included thus far. Some people might be upset that Rogue isn't here, but who knows, she may be included in the show, just not the poster. Others might notice the absence of Jean Grey. But, if she isn't included in the cast, then this version of the cartoon reflects where the actual comics stand now.

If you read the comics, you know that at this point in time, Jean is dead. She may well be back because the Jean Grey character has died and been reborn many times. But currently, her status is deceased. And, the character of Emma Frost handles the telepathic angle as well as that is her mutant ability too. I am truly excited about Emma's inclusion because this is the first time she'll be included in the cartoons as a hero, even though she has been a member of the X-Men for awhile now. If any of you remember the original X-Men cartoon from the early 90's, you'll remember they did include Emma back when she was a villian and member of the Hellfire Club.

As I said, Wolverine and the X-Men will not start airing till 2009, but I am so excited. Nick Kids will also in 2009 begin airing a new version of the early 90's Marvel cartoon, Iron Man. 2009 is gonna be a great year for comics fans on television.

Winter Reading Round-Up!

Well, it's mid-March and the weather here is in the 50's. So, that means it is time for the winter reading round-up. Here is a list of my favorite reads over the winter. They are by no means everything I have read, just my favorites.

Predatory Game: This book is the latest edition in Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series and was awesome. It arrived yesterday and I read it in 3 hours. Saber and Jesse are awesome characters, each tormented by a horrific past. Saber especially is a tragic heroine. I loved it.

Vampire Interrupted: This book by Lynsay Sands is one I have been waiting 7 years for and it was so worth it. Marguerite, the heroine of the story, has been through a nightmare that for most of us would only last maybe 50 years. But, because she's an immortal vampire, she has endured for 500. When you read the book and find out just what was done to her, you can not help but feel your heart break. Superb!

Woven Dreams: This e-book by NJ Walters is dynomite. I am totally in love with her work and her Tapestry series, of which Woven Dreams is the third installment, is my favorite. She really knows how to tell a tale!

Real Vampires Have Curves and Real Vampires Live Large: These two books by Gerry Bartlett are awesome. I love the character of Glory and am eagerly looking forward to the third book due out this summer. Glory is not the traditional female vampire. She isn't tall, slinky, and raven haired. She's short, blond, and has curves. She was a size twelve when she was turned, and a size twelve is what she will be until the end of her immortal life.:-)

In The Blood: This book is number four in Savannah Russe's Darkwing Chronicles. The story is awesome. It's about a group of vampires who are forced to work for the government as spies. If they refuse, they will be terminated. These are very reluctant heroes. Awesome series.

Unchained and Guardian Of The Keep: These two books are the first two novels in an awesome series by Lori Devoti. It deals with Norse legends and myths. The characters of both books live in a world where the Norse gods are alive and meddling still in people's lives. I strongly endorse these books. Book three is coming out soon and I can't wait.

The Undead Next Door: This book is the most recent release in Kerrelyn Sparks vampire series and totally rocks. The hero, who is a vampire, is a high-class fashion designer. He's surrounded constantly by thin, tall models, but he prefers women with curves. I totally fell in love with Jean-Luc. What a man!

I think that's plenty. So tell me, what's in your reading round-up?

What Do You Think?

I felt it was time to change the look of my blog. What do you think? I personally like it. Have a great weekend everyone and remember to turn your clocks ahead an hour. Yep, it's daylight savings time again. I know, it seems early. But remember, they changed the time of year we change the clocks last year. Daylight savings time is earlier in the year, and fallback time is later in the year than they used to be.

Fantastic Beyond Words!

Vampire Interrupted arrived today and I read it in 3 hours. It was even better than I could have hoped. I can not begin to describe just how much I love this series by Lynsay Sands. Her Argeneau books rock. And, of course, I had been waiting years for this book. It's all about Marguerite, the head of the family. It was so well worth the wait it was so good.

I'm not gonna go into any details. If you want to know what happens, read the book. You'll never be sorry you did. If you like vampire stories, you'll love these books. Lynsay Sands takes the much written genre and takes a unique turn with it. These books are so funny. In fact, Vampire Interrupted had me in stitches by the third page. Trust me, this book rocks. There are just no words in the English language to tell you how talented Lynsay Sands is. All I can say is, read her Argeneau series. You'll love em.:-)

3 Way!

By any chance, did you know that you can spread a cold to your pets? Did you know they can give you a cold? Well, it's true. My youngest cat caught a cold and she wasn't feeling so good. She gave it to my mom. And mom, well she gave it to me. So please excuse me as I won't be blogging for a couple days. I'm kinda down for the count.
