Some Of My Favorite Things

I'm sitting here at my computer and I started to think about some of my favorite things. So I've decided to share with you some of what I love the most in this world. Of course my Mom and cats are numero uno. But they aren't things. Here's some of my favorite things:

1: Winter. I love winter. I'm a huge fan of the cold. I was born in Erie, PA right on the Canadian border at the end of January. Very very cold and very snowy at that time of the year. I love winter for three reasons. You can put on enough clothes to stay warm. In summer, even if you went naked you can't get cool plus you'd probably be arrested for indecent exposure.:-)

Bugs are hibernating. Anyone who knows me knows how much I loathe the little creepy crawlies. And if you don't know me, just ask my Mom. I freak out when there's a bug in our home.

And third, I love houses decorated for Christmas. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not it's still nice to see all the pretty lights and figurines.

2: Books. This is a no brainer.:-) I'm a writer and my passion started by reading. I love books. I have too many favorite authors to list here, but no matter how nuts things get I always try to find time to read whenever I can. And I don't care if it's a print book or an ebook. A good book is a good book.

3: Chocolate. I ADORE chocolate. Give me chocolate dipped in chocolate and I'm happy. When I die I hope it's after I've gorged on chocolate. Chocolate is THE perfect food. I think it should be its own food group.

4: Pomegranates. I love the fruit. They're tart but loaded with so much good stuff. And to me they taste great. It's hard to eat them but they are so worth the effort.

5: Gyro sandwiches. I LOVE these. We have a place near us that delivers and they make the BEST gyros I have ever had. Yummy yum yum. This is heaven.

6: Water. I can see you shaking your head in confusion but yes, water is one of my favorite things. I love to drink it. Some people think water is bland but I actually love the cool refreshing taste of it. In fact on hot days I don't want things like soda, lemonade or iced tea. I want ice cold water.

I also love the feel of water. Swimming was my sport of choice as a kid. I loved how it felt on my skin. And to be blunt, the best sex I have ever had in my life was in the shower. There is just something about the element of water that is so sensual.

So that's my list of things I love. What's yours?:-)

As your Mother, the shower image is one I could have done without. How am I supposed to ever stand in a shower again and keep my head in an "all's right with my world' place when the image of you and whoever I don't want to know or think about...okay...I'm going to try very hard and move on.

Bugs...yeah, that should bring me back to a comfortable place...Bugs...to say you're a bug-a-phobe is far too tame.

"World, I have only partial hearing thanks to the loud, I mean LOUD, screams that erupt from my daughter if she sees even a teeny, tiny ant."

Chocolate...I've seen the perfect gift for you, though have no idea where to get you one. On the 10th anniversary of the Vicar of Dibley they have a man sized chocolate fountain that Geraldine dives into. That, My own little Geraldine, would be the absolute perfect gift...except for one thing...guess who would have to clean up the mess afterwards? Yep, Moi!

Okay I am going to leave it at that because if I get back to the cold, I might start thinking about water again and that is a place I SOOOO do NOT want to end this.

I love you Angel, you are so much more than my daughter and I thank God for you every day in every way.

Love You,
Mom

Knowing and having the words describing it permanently burning my retinas for all of eternity is an entirely different matter...Somethings a Mother just should not be reading about where her children are concerned.

At least, though, you never called me from GA to let me know you were horney...and for that I thank you. Still haven't figured out why your brother thought I needed to be made aware of his state of raging testosterone, or for that matter, what he expected ME to do about it. There are just somethings Mothers should be kept in the dark about, Child of Mine!

A woman after my own heart. So glad to see you have the glorious pita listed as one of your fves. You must come to Greece and try the authentic. Water - yes. As an adopted native of Corfu, I adore the sea. I could never live very far from it.

Believe me Viviane one of my dreams is to go to Greece.

LOL Lin, I know what you mean about the image imprinted in your mind. Not something we need to know. Kat, you have many of my favorite things. Other than the houses at Christmas, I'm not too crazy about winter. Nor am I crazy about the heat. I'm with you on at least you can dress for the elements and can't undress. Give me Springtime any day. Fall is beautiful as far as the colors, but I hate the leaves falling and the bare trees (not to mention cleaning them up). To me fall is a sad time of year. Spring is lush and green and all the pretty buds peeking out. And let's face it 60 degrees (or even 50) is a lot warmer in Spring than it is in Fall. Of course chocolate is a no brainer. I don't think I know anyone who would disagree with you on that. Great blog.

I love Christmas, but I'm not a big fan of winter. lol I love the heat of summer and the crispt air of autumn.

Books, chocolate...I'm right there with you. And although I don't like to swim, I love water. I always have a glass of water next to me 24/7. Can't live without it.
