Tomorrow Is A Big Release Day!

Tomorrow, February 26th is a big release day for books that I have been looking forward to. Two of my favorite authors and series come out tomorrow. Vampire Interrupted by Lynsay Sands and Predatory Game by Christine Feehan. I am so excited.

Vampire Interrupted is the next in Lynsay Sands' awesome Argeneau series and is the one I have been waiting years for. It finally tells the story of Marguerite, the matriarch of the Argeneau clan who has a tragic past. Turned vampire 700 years ago, the man who turned her treated her terribly. Because he wasn't her true lifemate, he took pleasure in making her do things she didn't want to by controlling her mind. He's dead, and it's time for Marguerite to find love.

Predatory Game is the next in Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series. When they were just infants, Dr. Peter Whitney adopted a bunch of girls from countries that didn't want them. But not just any unwanted girls, girls with psychic abilities. Then he experimented on them to enhance both their psychic and physical abilities. When things went wrong he gave away most the girls. Then he conducted the experiment on members of the military. Now the ultimate predators have been made and are on the loose.

Predatory Game deals with the characters of Jesse Calhoun whom we met in Mind Game. He was tortured and lost the use of his legs. But, though crippled, he is no less deadly. Saber Wynter is the deadliest of the females we have met thus far. Not only can she kill with a single touch, she can actually get by other Ghostwalkers undetected. Add into the mix the fact that she looks young and helpless and she will kick your butt.

I have both books on pre-order and they come out tomorrow. I am so excited. I can't wait. I love these series and I just can't get enough of em.:-)

Next Book and an Apology!

I am sorry. I know I promised I would do the next book yesterday but I was very sick after my dentist appointment. The problem was a bit more than either he or I thought and unfortunately, I spent Friday night hugging my toilet. I spent all of Saturday sleeping. Don't you just hate dental problems? They can never go easy.

But, on to the next book. The next book I want to talk about is not about vampires. Surprise.:-) The next book also isn't a hardcopy book so I can't read the back cover to you. It's an e-book I purchased from Ellora's Cave and is the third installment of NJ Walters Tapestry series called Woven Dreams. While the first two books have been released in book form in a book called Tapestry Dreams, the e-book Woven Dreams is too new to be released that way.

I LOVE this series. I can't gush enough about how much I enjoy these stories. Woven Dreams is about the two younger Bakra brothers. The older brothers can be found in the book Tapestry Dreams under the title of the Bakra Bride. Woven Dreams is about Jarmon and Garrick Bakra. After nearly being killed by his family's mortal enemies in The Bakra Bride, Jarmon is left strong but disfigured. His twin, Garrick, is still handsome and appealing, but since the law states that they must share a wife, they figure they don't stand a chance of having a woman choose them.

Genita is herself disfigured. The victim of violence, she is on the run and runs into the arms of the Bakra brothers. While it seems like she can accept and care about both brothers, she is hiding her own secrets, secrets that may bring war to the Bakra lands. If Jarmon and Garrick want to keep her as their own, they will need to find out her secrets before it is too late for all of them.

This series rocks. I can't get enough. The fourth story in this series has been contracted for and will probably be released later this year. But I really loved Woven Dreams. You can't help but cheer for these three. Each has been through so much and you just want to see them get the joy they so richly deserve. NJ Walters has become one of my alltime favorite authors. I truly love her stories. If you'd like to know more about her Tapestry series or any of her other works, click on my links section.

And The Next!

As promised, today's entry is gonna cover the sequel to yesterday's book. Today's is Real Vampires Live Large by Gerry Bartlett and is the continuation of Glory's life. Here's what the back cover says:

You think it's easy to keep a boyfriend, run a business, and survive for centuries as one of the immortal undead? Just try it sometime, sweetheart...

It was hard enough when a sexy Scottish vamp bit me while I was feeling a bit...bloated, leaving me eternally retaining, if you get my drift. But when a frustrated vampire hunter firebombs my vintage clothing boutique, I'm ready to pitch a fit. Then my long-time, sometime lover takes off in a rage to hunt the hunter and prove himself worthy of me or something manly like that. And now things are really getting out of hand.

The Energy Vampires want me - and not in a good way. They're paranormal drug dealers, selling thrills to those who've lived for ages, been everywhere, and done everything...and they want to suck me dry. But it'll take more than a few super-suckers to get the goods out of this girl. And if they want to make things personal, I'm going to make things downright painful.

Glory really comes into her own in this one. Because her boyfriend is off playing hero after her shop is firebombed, and her bodyguards are taken out, Glory must finally start to rely on her own vampire abilities, abilities that even with all her centuries of living, she has been afraid to use. I can not wait for the next one in this series. I love Glory and these books are hilarious.

I just want to make a quick note here. I will not be posting the next book tomorrow. I have to go to the dentist. At my last appointment, he found a problem that I am having fixed tomorrow so I won't be up to posting. I'll be back on Saturday. Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Lot Of Vampire Books!

Yes I admit I love vampire books. I just can't get enough of them as you may have noticed about the books I have blogged about thus far. And today's book, plus it's sequel which I will cover tomorrow, are no exceptions. Today's book is Real Vampires Have Curves by Gerry Bartlett. Here's what the back has to say:

What--did you think all vamps were pale, thin, and brooding? Don't I wish.

Me, I just happened to be bloating when a sexy Scotsman sank his teeth into me, so here I am. Glory St. Clair, eternally "full figured". On the plus side, I can rock a corset like nobody's business. Oh, and as for Angus Jeremiah Campbell III, a.k.a. Jeremy Blade? We've been on and off again for centuries, currently off. After a couple hundred years we sure know how to press each other's buttons - in good ways and bad.

The whole never-aging thing means that girl's gotta keep moving, and I'm headed for Austin and a new business venture: Vintage Vamp's Emporium. After all, I love cute clothes, and I am an antique. Only problem is, there's a billionaire technofreak vampire hunter on the loose. Blade's in total he-vampire mode and wants me to move in with him so he can "protect" me. But I'm sick of the not-so-little-woman thing. It's time for this vamp to explore her own powers.

Glory is awesome and funny. She's really every woman who just also happens to be a vamp. She's self conscious about her fuller body, has men trouble just like we all do, and just wants a little respect. We had this book for awhile but I hadn't read it yet. Even with all my reading while sick, I am still way behind and my to be read pile is still huge. But, I read Real Vampires Have Curves and it's sequel while I was sick and I LOVED them. I can't wait for the third installment which comes out this summer.

Glory is to me the ultimate heroine. Like I said, she's every woman just with the vampire thing thrown in. Let's face it, most of us are not a size zero through size 6 and never will be. Because of my own bone structure, I can't get below a size 12 and I am ok with that. But I love the fact that Gerry Bartlett made a realistic woman as the central story. And her main squeeze, Blade is uber sexy. I love Scotsmen with thick brogues. Hot! Hot! Hot!

Onwards & Upwards

Sorry about yesterday but the internet was giving me a major hard time. But today, I would like to discuss the third book in Yasmine Galenorn's Sisters of the Moon series called Darkling. I love this series and the third book was just as awesome as the first two. Darkling covers the youngest of the three sisters, Menolly. Here is what the back cover has to say:

Three sisters ridding the Otherworld of evil--one monster at a time.

We're the D'Artigo sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we're savvy- and sexy- operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Camille is a wicked-good witch whose magic is as unpredictable as the weather. My sister Delilah transforms into a tabby cat when she's under stress. And me? I'm Menolly acrobat-extraordinaire-turned-vampire. And I'd give my right fang to make my sire pay for killing me. That is, if he doesn't find me first.

All over Seattle, humans have been going missing, only to turn up as newborn vampires-the sure sign of a rogue vamp on the loose. It looks like Dredge is to blame- the same sadistic Dredge who gave me my scars, and who may well be in cahoots with the demon Shadow Wing. If so, Otherworld and Earth are screwed. The only way we can hope to defeat Dredge is for me to travel home to Otherworld, and face my own demons. For unless I sever the ties that bind me to Dredge, all hell is going to break loose.

In many ways, Menolly is the most tragic of the three sisters. She was taken prisoner, tortured and mutilated, and then turned vampire. Her father sort of turned on her because he couldn't handle her being a vampire. The thought of being intimate with a man after what her sire put her through, turns Menolly's stomach. She really has much personal turmoil to overcome on top of the fight to save the world.

Darkling was awesome. A real roller coaster from start to finish in terms of not only the action, but the emotional roller coaster Menolly must endure. The only way to stop her sire's plans is to kill him. The only way to get near him without him realizing it is to sever the psychic ties that bind a vampire to her sire. And the only way to sever those ties is to relive, in total detail, the night of her capture and torture.

I love this series. The next in this series, Dragon Wytch is coming out this summer. Each book travels between the viewpoints of the sisters. Witchling, the first book, is told from Camille's viewpoint. Changeling is Delilah's, and Darkling is Menolly's. With Dragon Wytch, we switch back To Camille who is going to have pay off her debt to the dragon Smoky. Next year, with a tentative release date of January, Death Maiden comes out. In Death Maiden we switch to Delilah who is going to have to face what she became in Changeling, a collector of souls for the immortal Autumn Lord. This series rocks!

Next!

And we are now on the the next book. It's called In The Blood by Savannah Russe. It's book four of her Darkwing Chronicles series and is fantastic. Here's what the back cover has to say:

If you passed Daphne Urban on the streets of New York, you'd see a sleek young brunette dressed to kill. You'd never know she was a vampire. But the government knows.

Their ultimatum: Spy for the United States, or be terminated. And after all these centuries, Daphne is not ready to call it quits.

One is on the run. Another is dead. Now Team Darkwing is down to its original three: Daphne, Benny, and Cormac. Their latest assignment: Rescue the kidnapped daughters of New York's elite. The terrorist captors demand diamonds - and access to a military secret vital to American safety.

To round out the team, the threesome goes on the prowl for new blood in the dark, secret vampire underworld, where pleasure is the sole pursuit and no idulgence is denied. It is a realm of wild passions that Daphne, hoping for true love with her sexy human boyfriend, has shunned. But temptation is leading her into a risque liason he may never forgive. If she wants to save the abducted girls, she can't get distracted because time is running out...

Savannah's Darkwing series just keeps getting better with each new book. These are reluctant heroes. They are forced to work for the government or face being executed. So the only force standing between us and total destruction are a team of vampires who have been pressed into service under threat of termination.

Daphne is an awesome character. She's extremely strong and yet has so many problems pressing down on her from so many different directions. And her mother, who is also a vampire, makes me glad my own mother is the way she is. Talk about the mother from hell. In The Blood was an awesome book and I am sure you'll enjoy it.

My Many Reads!

Sorry I didn't do this last weekend, but unforseen complications arose. However, I have many wonderful books to talk about that I have been reading while I was sick all through January. So, to prevent this post from being a mile long, I'm gonna cover one book a day till I get through the list. Today, I am beginning with an awesome book by Kerrelyn Sparks. It's called The Undead Next Door and is the fifth release in her vampire series. Here's what the back cover says:

Three signs that something is very different with your new man:

1. He sleeps all day...which would be annoying except he's SO attentive at night.

2. He's attacked by sword-wielding assailants, yet insists he can handle it on his own.

3. He never seems to age.

Heather Westfield has always lived a quiet life, but all that changes when she helps a very handsome, very mysterious stranger. There's something not quite right about Jean-Luc, but still, she's never been with a man so charming, so attractive...so wonderful. Now if only a murderous villain wasn't after them, they might get their happily-ever-after.

In the tradidtion of the others in this series, this book was hilarious. And Jean-Luc Echarpe is uber sexy. And, to make him the ultimate man in my opinion, he likes and prefers women with curves. Even though he's a fashion designer and is always surrounded by skinny models, he needs a woman with some meat on her bones to be attracted.

The Undead Next Door is awesome and I highly endorse this book. It's such a shame that it's not available in hardback because I'm gonna wear this book out. And for those of you who ever wanted to see your ex-husbands get what they deserve, you will love what happens to the heroine's ex in this book. It's not only appropriate, but hilarious. If you'd like to learn about the others in this series, click on my link for Kerrelyn's website. This series is dynomite.
